Hug The One You're With
I meant to write a cute post yesterday morning about when Joe and I fell in love four years ago, but I was broadsided by the terrible news that my mom's cousin, Robin Coulter Lapasoetes, had died in a car accident on Tuesday. I always thought she was a very impressive person, and like too many people I admire, I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I had wanted. It saddens me to think of the pain her family is going through, my heart goes out to them. To quote my mom, "Her family, friends and community won't know what to do without her. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, friend, environmentalist and business woman who wasn't afraid to follow her passions and beliefs and live her life with the greatest vitality you can imagine. We will miss you Robin."
Here's a nice interview with her:
http://www.ecocowboys.com/Segment_Womans_Touch.html Four year ago, on February 5, 2010, I spent a First Friday with Joe Crockett, otherwise known as Otis. I hadn't really talked with him for 10 years, but I knew that I couldn't let him disappear for another 10 years. So I didn't. We were engaged 6 weeks later, and married before the year's end. Somehow, we all have to spend as much time as possible with the people we admire, before it's too late.
Go on, just hug them.
